L-6 6m power amplifier

The Drake L-6 is a prototype 6 meter (50-54 MHz) linear power amplifier with a pair of 3-500Z tubes. The Drake engineers used an L-4B as the base unit, adapting it to a single band unit for the 6 meter band. It used the same L-4 PS power supply as the L-4 and L-4B units. The front panel is made of cardboard, as were all prototype units. The front panel is in poor condition as this particular prototype is a fully functional unit. It was used by Drake employees at their home stations and it was also used in numerous contests. This is only L-6 ever produced.

Thanks to Bill Frost for the information.
